Neighborhood Highlight: N Williams Corridor

This trendy little up and coming strip (or, as some might consider it, "up and came") has got some serious swagger. Ideally located with easy access to the Broadway bridge, it's a close in hotspot for both East and West side dwellers.

With some of the City's hippest bars and restaurants, N Williams has quickly turned itself into a destination, distinct from the neighborhoods around it. John Gorham, owner of the famed (and frequently awarded) Toro Bravo, brings his small plate expertise to the brunch world at the unique Tasty n Sons, one of N Williams favorite stops. Lincoln is another favorite, providing classy yet comfortable fine dining. Lincoln's chef/owner Jenn Louis was named Best Chef Northwest 2010 semifinalist by the prestigious James Beard Foundation.

If you're looking for or a quick lunch or snack — pizza a go go for a slice, The Waypost for a delicious fried egg sandwich, Cha! Cha! Cha! for tacos or a po boy at EAT: An Oyster Bar— are all great options.

N Williams has also become a "bike highway", with an average 400 daily bike commuters in summer. As a growing arterial for N/S traffic in an area with many bikers, Williams is helping promote the movement of our City towards reducing carbon emissions and relieving traffic congestion.

One of the neighborhoods' most exciting prospects is the proposed New Seasons on Williams, allegedly breaking ground in 2013. For a neighborhood filled with environmentally conscious and socially aware residents, this will be a welcome addition to the area, and will help Portland achieve it's plan of each neighborhood having accessibility within walking distance to healthy food choices (amongst other aspects of the City plan).

The Williams Corridor is an exciting addition to North Portland's collection of flourishing communities, attracting people from all over the city and having a positive impact on property values in the area.
